Michael P. Varenhorst, M.D.
Dr. Michael Varenhorst
Dr. Michael P. Varenhorst received a B.A. in biology from Drake
University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, in 1976. He then
attended the University of Iowa, College of Medicine, receiving his
M.D. degree in 1980.
He served as Rotating Intern for the University of Iowa Hospitals
and Clinics, through 1981. Dr. Varenhorst performed his
Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Kansas Medical
Center in Kansas City through 1984. To conclude his formal
education, he completed his Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship at Wills Eye
Hospital in Philadelphia, 1986.
Dr. Varenhorst has been in private practice since 1986 at
Vitreo-Retinal Consultants and Surgeons, specializing in disease
and surgery of the retina and vitreous. He also holds the position
of Clinical Instructor with the University of Kansas School of
Medicine, Wichita, Kansas. He holds medical licenses in Kansas
and Missouri, and is certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology.
