Michael Varenhorst, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist, and is fellowship-trained in vitreo-retinal disorders.
Dr. Varenhorst earned his undergraduate degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and attended medical school at the University of Iowa. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at The University of Kansas Medical Center and a Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship at Willis Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Varenhorst joined Vitreo-Retinal Consultants and Surgeons in 1986.
Dr. Varenhorst has been actively involved in the research of vitreo-retinal disorders, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vasculitis. He is a Clinical instructor at the University of Kansas, School of Medicine.
